Lester Joseph Jackson

Lester Joseph Jackson was born in Mount Vernon, Michigan, on July 14, 1915, the son of William and Jessie Fangboner Jackson. Before the war, Lester worked at Fisher Body Corporation in Pontiac, Michigan.

Lester enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces in November 1942. He attended technical school in Chicago and was trained as a radio operator and mechanic. Lester was then stationed at Bradley Field in Connecticut with the 305th Fighter Control Squadron and later with the 55th Fighter Control Squadron near Seattle, Washington. He was released from active duty in December 1945.

After the war, Lester married, started a family, and had a long career working for National Twist Drill and Tool Company.

Lester Joseph Jackson died at the age of 59 on January 17, 1975, and was laid to rest in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
