History Hounds Online Lectures: Cultural Stewardship in a Changing Environment: Preserving Anishnaabek Traditions

As a RAHS member, you have free access to the Historical Society of Michigan’s beloved History Hounds series of online lectures. Once you register and are confirmed a RAHS member, you will be emailed a login link with RAHS’s member number to use when registering for the lectures of your choice. You will register for the lecture on the Historical Society of Michigan’s website and receive separate webinar instructions.

NOTE: Registration for each History Hounds® event closes 3 hours prior to the event time—9 a.m. ET for Tuesday midday lectures and 4 p.m. ET for Wednesday evening lectures. Registrations completed after those times will not be processed in time for live viewing of the event. All lecture times are scheduled in the Eastern time zone.

This lecture synopsis:

Anishinabek people are resilient, safeguarding traditions and teachings for future generations. Preserving the age-old traditions this has been challenging as climate change and resource depletion have threatened traditional Anishinaabe art and lifeways. This program focuses on innovative approaches to maintain traditions of basketry, art, and sustenance in a changing landscape.
