This lecture synopsis:

In 1875, Michigan Methodists founded Bay View, near Petoskey, as a camp, “for scientific and intellectual culture, and for the promotion of religion and morality.” Hundreds of summer cottages, two hotels, and a restaurant sprang up. Discover the picturesque community’s history in images and stories that reflect its rich heritage.
