
All programs are remote, via Zoom. RAHS members can register for the programs on the Historical Society of Michigan’s (HSM) website. On the registration form, please will select “A member of an HSM member organization” and enter Rochester-Avon Historical Society. HSM will automatically email you the Zoom link the day before each program.

NOTE: Registration for each History Hounds® event closes 3 hours prior to the event time—9 a.m. ET for Tuesday midday lectures and 4 p.m. ET for Wednesday evening lectures. Registrations completed after those times will not be processed in time for live viewing of the event. All lecture times are scheduled in the Eastern time zone.

Established in 1917 as Camp Custer, this facility near Battle Creek trained more than 100,000 World War I troops. In 1940, as Fort Custer, it became a permanent training base. Learn about the training base, POW camp, and hospital at this iconic military facility through rare photographs and historical accounts.
