Howard Harvey Farmer

Howard Harvey Farmer was born in Macomb County, Michigan, on June 18, 1920, the son of Jerry and Ruth Major Farmer. He grew up in Rochester and attended Rochester High School, graduating in the class of 1938. Howard was also active in scouting and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1940. After high school, he worked at National Twist Drill & Tool Company in Avon Township.

In October 1942, Howard entered the U.S. Army. He was assigned to a medical detachment of the 56th Armored Infantry Regiment and served in France. Howard was released from military service in February 1946.

After the war, Howard married, started a family, and lived in Rochester, where he was a member of the Rochester Fire Department.

Howard Harvey Farmer died at age 84 on May 14, 2005, and was laid to rest in Mount Avon Cemetery.
