Beryl Morrison “Bud” Boughner
Beryl Morrison “Bud” Boughner was born in Delhi, Ontario, on October 9, 1919, the son of Allan and Ida Bartlett Boughner. The Boughner family moved to Rochester when Bud was a teenager. He attended Rochester High School and graduated in the class of 1937. Before the war, Bud was employed at an automobile service station in downtown Rochester.
In March 1941, Bud entered the U.S. Army and was assigned to the Coast Artillery Corps. After training at San Diego, California, and Puget Sound, Washington, he was assigned to the 267th Separate Coast Artillery Regiment at Fort Raymond, Alaska. His unit was tasked with defending the Alaskan coast and harbors from potential attacks by Japanese forces. Bud was discharged from military service in October 1945.
After the war, Bud married, started a family, and worked at National Twist Drill & Tool Company in Avon Township.
Beryl Morrison Boughner died at age 53 on August 9, 1973, and was laid to rest in White Chapel Cemetery.
