Calvin Anthony Pauloski
Calvin Anthony Pauloski was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 10, 1926, the son of Anthony and Vera Lundwall Pauloski. The Pauloski family moved to Avon Township when Calvin was a teenager and lived on Wilcox Road near Bloomer Park. Calvin attended Rochester High School and graduated in the class of 1944. Before entering the military, he worked at Mason’s Meat Market in downtown Rochester.
In June 1944, Calvin entered the U.S. Navy. He was trained as a cook and baker and was stationed aboard the attack transport USS Gasconade. The Gasconade operated in the Pacific, delivering troops, cargo, and mail to the Philippines. In early 1946, Calvin served briefly aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington before being released from active duty in June 1946.
After the war, Calvin married, started a family, and worked as a construction carpenter.
Calvin Anthony Pauloski died at age 83 on March 18, 2010, and was laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery.
