Albert Faulconer

Albert Faulconer was born in Kansas on October 24, 1911, the son of Albert and Grace McMillen Faulconer. He received his college education at the University of Kansas, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1932 and his medical degree in 1936. Dr. Faulconer served his medical residency at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, then came to Rochester, Michigan, in 1938 to establish a private medical practice. His office was located in the bank building on the corner of Fourth & Main Streets.

In April 1941, Dr. Faulconer turned his Rochester practice over to Dr. Carl Schlecte and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served on the medical staff of the Percy Jones Army Hospital at Fort Custer and Finney General Hospital in Georgia.

Dr. Faulconer’s medical specialty was anesthesiology. After the war, he remained in the Army Reserve but worked as an anesthesia consultant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was also widely published in medical and scientific journals.

Dr. Albert Faulconer died at age 74 on December 10, 1985, and was laid to rest in Rochester, Minnesota.
