William Thomas “Bill” Cram
William Thomas “Bill” Cram was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 9, 1927, the son of Ervin and May Coffman Cram. Bill grew up in Avon Township and attended Rochester High School, receiving his diploma in 1946.
In 1945, Bill entered the U.S. Navy and was trained as a pharmacist’s mate. He was stationed at several Navy hospitals in California and at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
After the war, Bill pursued a career in law enforcement with the Michigan State Police. He served several MSP posts around the state and retired as a lieutenant after a 26-year career. He moved to Georgia, where he pursued a second career with Pinkerton Security, retiring again in 1997.
William Thomas Cram died at age 80 on January 11, 2008, and was laid to rest in Macon, Georgia.
