Warren Kay Peck
Warren Kay Peck was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 16, 1919, the son of Ward and Ethel Kay Peck. He was known to friends and family by his middle name, Kay. Kay and his family moved to Rochester around 1933. He attended Rochester High School and graduated in the class of 1938. Before the war, he worked for Ford Motor Company.
In June 1942, Kay enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He trained as a twin-engine pilot and received his pilot’s wings and commission as a second lieutenant in 1943.
After the war, Kay remained a career officer with the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a pilot in the Strategic Air Command and an instructor on the B-36 bomber. He also served as aide-de-camp to General Curtis LeMay. Kay retired at the rank of colonel in 1965. In retirement, he and his wife lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Warren Kay Peck died at age 66 on June 3, 1985, and was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
