Edward James Davis
Edward James Davis was born in Granite City, Illinois, on July 25, 1922, the son of Daniel and Dollie Brown Davis. Edward came to Rochester as an adult and worked at Excello Corporation in Highland Park before the war.
In April 1944, Edward entered the U.S. Army. He was assigned to the 604th Field Artillery Battalion of the 10th Mountain Division. The 604th fought in Italy and central Europe. Edward was awarded the Bronze Star medal for “heroic achievement in action on 16 April 1945,” in Italy. He was released from military service in April 1946.
After the war, Edward married and started a family. He worked as a tool and die maker for Excello Corporation until retirement. Edward and his family made their home in Troy, Michigan.
Edward James Davis died at age 85 on August 28, 2007.
