Theodore Howard “Ted” Albrecht
Theodore Howard “Ted” Albrecht was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on June 30, 1913, the son of Howard and Anna Nash Albrecht. Ted grew up in Pontiac and Waterford and moved to Avon Township around the time of his marriage in 1936. He and his wife lived on Grant Street, and Ted worked at Fisher Body in Pontiac before the war.

The Leary escorted ships to Eniwetok and Saipan in the Pacific Theater, and then supported landings at Peleliu and Leyte. The ship also provided gunfire support for the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Ted was discharged from military service in October 1945.
After the war, Ted worked as a carpenter. He eventually retired to Prescott, Michigan.
