Lloyd Casey Niles
Lloyd Casey Niles was born in Rochester, Michigan, on August 4, 1905, the son of Guy and Bessie Casey Niles. Lloyd grew up in Rochester and attended Rochester High School, graduating in the class of 1924. In January 1928, he began working for Oakland County as a court clerk.
In July 1943, Lloyd entered the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 1210th Engineers Fire Fighting Platoon. He was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and was then sent to Wiltshire, England.
Lloyd was discharged from military service in October 1945. In December 1945, he resumed his post as assignment clerk of the Oakland County Circuit Court. On October 13, 1949, as Lloyd was walking near the Oakland County Courthouse, he was stricken with a heart attack. Attempts were made to resuscitate him, but he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Lloyd C. Niles died at age 44 on October 13, 1949, and was laid to rest in Mount Avon Cemetery.
