Forest Eugene Kerr
Forest Eugene Kerr was born in Rochester, Michigan, on August 10, 1920, the son of William and Ella Pearsall Kerr. The Kerr family lived on Hamlin Road, and Forest attended Rochester High School, graduating in the class of 1940. Before the war, he was employed as a grocery store clerk.
In January 1942, Forest enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces, where he was trained as an armorer and crew chief. In November 1943, Forest was stationed with the 762nd Bomb Squadron, 460th Bombardment Group, based in Spinazzola, Italy. After spending 17 months in Italy participating in the bombing campaign against Germany, Forest was transferred to Brazil, where he spent his final months in service with the Air Transport Command. Forest was discharged from military service in October 1945.
After the war, Forest married, started a family, and worked as an accountant.
Forest Eugene Kerr died at age 46 on June 27, 1963, and was laid to rest in Mount Avon Cemetery.
