Allan Murray Stotts

Allan Murray Stotts was born in Rochester, Michigan, on January 11, 1919, the son of Murray and Lotta Howling Stotts. The Stotts family lived on East Street, and Allan attended Rochester High School. Before the war, he worked at National Twist Drill & Tool Company in Avon Township.

In April 1942, Allan enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was sent to North Africa in 1943, where he served as a carpenter in an air engineering squadron attached to the 63rd Fighter Wing. Allan participated with his unit in the invasions of Italy and Sicily. He was released from military service in April 1946.

After the war, Allan returned to work at National Twist Drill & Tool Company. He was a lifelong resident of the Rochester area.

Allan Murray Stotts died at age 55 on April 7, 1974, and was laid to rest in Mount Avon Cemetery.
