Robert Kingsley Patterson

Robert Kingsley Patterson was born in Redford, Michigan, on May 21, 1919, son of Hugh and Eleanor Mitchell Patterson. Robert grew up in Rochester and attended the Rochester schools from Kindergarten thru 12th grade. He enjoyed boxing and was the class president during his senior year, graduating in the class of 1937. Robert was hired by Michigan Bell Telephone Company in October 1937.

In October 1940, Robert enlisted in the Michigan National Guard Medium Ordnance Company. He served 2 years, 9 months, and 26 days in the European Theater, including Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged from military service at the rank of tech sergeant in October 1945.

After the war, Robert married Margaret Millard in October 1949. He resumed his employment with Michigan Bell and retired from that company in July 1981.

Robert Kingsley Patterson died at age 79 on March 15, 1999.
