Edwin John Kage Jr.
Edwin John Kage Jr. was born in Rochester, Michigan, on August 21, 1924, the son of Edwin and Sylvia Nettnay Kage. He attended Rochester High School and graduated in the class of 1942. Before the war, Edwin worked as a machine operator at National Twist Drill and Tool Company.
In December 1942, Edwin entered the U.S. Navy and began training as an aviation cadet. He married in 1945, while stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas.
After the war, Edwin started a family and embarked on a 27-year career with Rockwell International. He also remained in the U.S. Navy Reserve, flying the F-86 jet fighter and retiring from military service in 1962 after 20 years in uniform.
Edwin John Kage Jr. died at the age of 72 on April 8, 1997, and was laid to rest in Lewis Center, Ohio.
