Richard Clarence “Dick” Huck
Richard Clarence “Dick” Huck was born in Highland Park, Michigan, on May 12, 1922, the son of Clarence and Anna McGuire Huck. The Huck family moved to Avon Township when Dick was a teenager. He attended Rochester High School, where he played baseball and football, and graduated in the class of 1941.
In December 1941, Dick entered the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Norfolk, Virginia, and was later sent to aircrew school in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dick was released from military service in January 1946. He enrolled at Central Michigan University and earned his education degree in 1949. He married in 1951 and began a 30-year career teaching junior high industrial arts for Rochester Community Schools. He and his wife retired to Gladwin, Michigan, in 1992.
Richard Clarence Huck died at age 85 on August 7, 2007.
