George Radabough Trevethan
George Radabough Trevethan was born in Ahmeek, Michigan, on January 1, 1915, the son of Simeon and Jessie Radabough Trevethan. The Trevethan family moved to Avon Township when George was a child. He attended Rochester High School and graduated in the class of 1933. After high school, George worked at Yellow Truck & Coach in Pontiac, Michigan.
In April 1942, George entered the U.S. Army Air Forces, one of four Trevethan brothers to serve in uniform during the war. George was trained as a bombardier and waist gunner with a unit based in Italy. He completed 50 successful combat missions and was awarded an Air Medal.
George was released from military service in September 1945. After the war, he worked for Honeywell Corporation, retiring in 1964. He moved to Grand Marais, Michigan, in 1970, and operated a heating and refrigeration service there for seven years.
George Radabough Trevethan died at age 73 on June 28, 1988.
