Charles Howard “Charley” Fearnow

Charles Howard “Charley” Fearnow was born in Manistee County, Michigan, on December 31, 1921, the son of Noah and Edith Rau Fearnow. Before the war, Charley worked as an automobile mechanic for Larry Jerome Ford in Rochester.

In March 1942, Charley entered the U.S. Navy. He attended armed guard training school in Illinois before being stationed at a naval armed guard center in Baltimore, and later, in San Francisco. He was released from military service in October 1945.

After the war, Charley and his wife brought up their family in the Clarkston area. Charley returned to his job as an automobile mechanic for Larry Jerome Ford in Rochester and later worked as a supervisor at Pontiac Motors.

Charles Howard Fearnow died at age 51 on December 3, 1973, and was laid to rest in Mount Avon Cemetery.
