Grant Josiah “Joe” Serrell Jr.
Grant Josiah “Joe” Serrell Jr. was born in Rochester, Michigan, on September 14, 1921, the son of Grant and Hazel Heitsch Serrell. He attended Rochester High School and graduated in the class of 1941.
In January 1942, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He was assigned to the 1811th Ordnance Supply and Maintenance Company and was stationed in New Guinea, Australia, and the Philippines. Joe was released from military service in November 1945.
After the war, Joe married, started a family, and worked for National Twist Drill & Tool Company in Avon Township until his retirement.
Grant Josiah Serrell Jr. died at age 95 on January 16, 2017, and was laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery.
